Watertown's George Neher: Loyal Servant

Technology for me has not yet advanced to the point where I can shave, shower or drive to work while surfing the web.  For my morning news, my handy Sony transistor remains locked to WTNY (that's 790 on your AM radio dial.)

The authoritative, yet soothing vocal tones of George Neher have embellished our town for decades, and while the Watertown radio market has witnessed many transitions, it's comforting to know that George has remained our unshakable loyal servant.

Undoubtedly, Mr. Neher could command a larger wage as a lavish career executive in any top-rated metropolitan market, yet has chosen not to succumb to lures from the fast lane.  With an all-encompassing ritual of news, weather, sports, commentary and dependable time-checks, George's morning show with co-host Nathan Lahman is every bit as reliable and professional as their network counterparts... anywhere!

From 6 - 9AM (Mon - Friday) our community continues to be enriched by a "personality" who has never lost touch with the first and foremost purpose of broadcasting . . . . .

"To serve in the public interest."

ON GEORGE NEHER:  "The Beamer" Writes...

Bill...I too have always enjoyed George Neher. I was on WOTT Radio from 1969 until 1976. I frequently listened to George...primarily after they started playing music that was a bit more to my liking. I met and spoke with George many times and ALWAYS found him to be on top of it all! A pleasant voice of reason and calm and a really great guy. Watertown is fortunate to have him there...Steve Behm, Burbank, Ca.

Dear Steve (Beamer) -- And I remember you!  I never missed your afternoon drive....when WOTT was truly fun!!   Great to hear from you!
